Technology Update
We strive to provide the latest technology for the non-surgical treatment of spine and joint dysfunction. Listed below are the latest technologies available at Montgomery Chiropractic.
Insight Subluxation Station

Montgomery Chiropractic has joined a growing number of high tech chiropractic offices that have upgraded their level of care to better assess the overall general health and well being of their community. People can now be examined by the Insight Subluxation Station,™ a non-invasive technology which is a neuro-spinal screening and evaluation system originally designed to measure changes in the spinal muscles of astronauts caused by zero gravity space flight. It is painless, economical, and only takes minutes.
Dr. Montgomery and Dr. Fitzpatrick use the Insight™ technology to help measure subluxations, which are nerve interferences along the spine. This nerve interference disturbs the regular nerve function to the organs and muscles, causing an abnormal amount of electrical flow.
The Insight Subluxation Station™ measures the electrical flow and charts it in an easy to understand picture that shows the spine. This helps specify precisely when chiropractors should adjust their patients, allowing for increased accuracy in diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes.
The Insight™ technology used by Dr. Montgomery and Dr. Fitzpatrick has received the highly regarded, exclusive recognition of a Certified Space Technology™ from The Space Foundation, in cooperation with NASA. We are extremely excited to be able to bring this breakthrough technology to our office and patients. Providing the highest level of care for the people of Central Texas is the goal and purpose of our office.
What is the Subluxation Station?
A computerized, non-invasive & painless test consisting of thermal and surface electromyography (SEMG).
Why should I get a scan of my nervous system?
The benefits of these scans are to detect and pinpoint abnormal function which cannot be seen on X-ray and are generally not felt in the form of pain until the damage is severe; much like a heart attack. It has been proven that a very slight amount of pressure can disturb the communication of the nervous system whether or not symptoms are present. The scans will show if there is any subluxation (stress) on your nervous system and how it is affecting your organs, glands, muscles & energy level.
How will this test benefit me?
These computerized scans will let you know if chiropractic can help you. For years, a major concern of the public has been , "Why do I have to keep coming back when I'm pain-free?" or "How do I know if I'm getting the proper amount of adjustments?" Now you are able to actually see the changes, and it will be easier to understand the amount and type of care you are receiving. Because of this technology, we can provide a "tailor-made" program to meet your specific health needs.
Does the test hurt?
Absolutely not! These tests do not utilize any needles, electric shock, or heat whatsoever. They are receiving important information from your central nervous system. The patient just feels someone touching their spine. Even infants can be scanned.
Surface Electromyography (SEMG)
SEMG will measure how your motor nerves are working. This is the part of the nervous system controlling muscles and movement. The more your muscles contract...the more electrical activity. We are able to measure the amount of muscle spasms or weakness which may indicate stress to your nervous system caused by subluxation.
Muscle Balance (Symmetry)
Muscle Balance is extremely important because the vertebrae in the spine depend on the muscles to move properly. If one or more vertebrae are out of their normal position, it disturbs nerve function. This disturbance creates muscle imbalance which can be seen on the SEMG as an abnormal amount of electrical current in the muscles on either side of the spine. As a result of this disturbance, the muscles can become weaker, tighter, or fatigued.
Spinal Decompression Therapy
Spinal Decompression Therapy is performed on a specially designed table which utilizes computerized traction to treat degenerated or herniated disc in the lower back or neck. A specialized attachment also allows for the treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
The computer controlled traction device is programmed to deliver a gentle stretching force to the spinal vertebra (or the wrist, if treatment is for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome). The gentle pumping action fosters a process called "imbibition". In the simplest of terms, this is a way in which the flow of nutritional material into the disc is promoted. The flow of nutritional products is often lost in the damaged or degenerated disc. By re-supplying the disc with nutrients, the disc can actually heal from the "inside out".
Low Level Laser Therapy
Low Level Laser Therapy is a "light therapy" that can penetrate up to 4" into the tissues of the body and promotes healing of tissues and reduction of inflammation.
